The legacy of mining in South Africa is one of the stark disparity between mine workers and communities on the one hand, and mining management, financiers and shareholders on the other. Social and Labour Plans (SLPs) are one of the corrective measures chosen by the South African legislature to address this legacy.
The SLP is aimed at promoting employment and advancement of the social and economic welfare of all South Africans while ensuring economic growth and socio-economic development.
Tetra4 works closely with local authorities in the license areas to determine local beneficiaries of community-led projects. These projects are diverse in nature but have an enormous impact in the daily lives of impoverished community members.
Tetra4 believes that social improvement needs to take place in various formats and to this end, we provide school bursaries, learnerships, internships opportunities annually to the local qualifying community members. Tetra4 is committed to the communities surrounding our gas operations and is involved in the community, providing opportunities through the Social and Labour Plan.
